Gibson Les Paul Junior 1961 - Horned Style: I inherited this beauty in 1979. As I double on keyboards and bass, I've seldom had occasion to use it; however, I did play two concerts in Houston with it. The sound is incredible, the fretboard as smooth as melted butter. Anyway, the serial number is 33621. The literature from Gibson ( I also inquired at the Gibson factory in Nashville in person) states this is a "Horned version" ; early 1961. The guitar has been stored in a gig bag in my studio since 1979. Periodically, I tune and perform basic maintainence. Defects/Dings : The head stock has some discoloration (black paint worn off) on the fringe curvature. 1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior: 1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior ?TV Model? It?s been refinished, but yes, it?s a real TV. Les Paul Junior expert "BCR Greg" Platzer of BCR Music & Sound put his stamp of approval on it when I brought to him. TV Yellow paint can still be seen in the control cavity and other "crevasses". When I first purchased this guitar about six years ago, it had had the finish removed. I?ll never understand why people do this, but at least it didn't have a Floyd Rose. I had Voodoo pickup maker Peter Florance perform the refin and apply the serial number, 900922, which is period correct to the model and vintage, but arbitrary.
